Your generosity will allow our team to source essential masks, gloves, and PPE for medical professionals on the ground in the Kutupalong and Balukhali refugee camps. Additionally, we are sending a small portion of the protective materials we receive in each order to Dhaka’s two largest hospitals, which are vastly under-resourced and already working over their capacity. We are also collaborating with our coordination cell to disseminate educational graphics on COVID-19 prevention in the camps.
On March 24th 2020, one positive COVID-19 case was reported in Cox’s Bazar, 20km from the Rohingya refugee (FDMN) camps. We are following national guidelines for COVID-19 healthcare and developed our response in coordination with the WHO’s Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) approach. We have trained all our medical team members accordingly. We have already established a Triage and Referral Pathway at our two medical centers, which are now connected with a Hotline and nearby Isolation Centers. It is needless to say, your donation has come at a vital time.
